Why Bring Favors For Your Own Birthday Party?

Well why not! But to favor or not to favor is actually something to consider when planning your own birthday party or, more likely, a party for your children or maybe your parents if they are reaching the top of the hill.

But first, what are birthday party favors, why would you buy them, and where can you get them?

Party favors are, quite simply, small gifts given to guests who attend an event such as a baby shower, wedding or birthday party. These gifts are given out as a way of thanking guests for attending the party, especially if those guests have brought their own presents for a wedding, shower, or birthday party. Since not everyone gives out favors, there is no real social obligation to provide them, however there are those at weddings who will take mild umbrage if it is over looked (and there are plenty of children who have gotten into the habit of getting presents at ALL birthday parties).

Wedding favors may include chocolate, small picture frames, seeds for planting, pens and stationary, or tea bags. Party favors at children’s birthday parties are usually inexpensive things such as small toys, miniature puzzles and candy. They are often given in little plastic or paper gift bags to children as they leave the party and can can be fun for children as they allow everyone to have a gift along with the birthday child.

Shopping for ritzy personalized wedding favors is best done online where things can be customized easily and cheaply, and where there is a large assortment. Toy stores or dollar stores work for children’s birthday party favors, and for other parties it all depends on the occasion!
